Billing, cancellation and refunds.
How paid ClaraDB plans are billed, canceled and refunded.
Status
This is the billing, cancellation and refund policy for every paid plan (Team and Business). Prices are on the pricing page.
1. Paddle is the seller
Paid plans are sold by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle handles checkout, payment methods, taxes, invoices, fraud checks, chargebacks and approved refunds under its buyer terms(opens in a new tab) and refund policy(opens in a new tab). The checkout names the Paddle entity that sells to you.
2. Renewal and cancellation
- Plans renew monthly at the price shown at checkout unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Cancel in the workspace billing settings or through Paddle's customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid month: access continues until then and the plan does not renew. The workspace then moves to the free plan; nothing is deleted.
- Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel first.
3. Unpaid plans
If a renewal payment fails, Paddle retries it and we email the workspace owners. For the first 7 days the workspace works as usual with a notice. From day 8 it is read-only. From day 30 it is locked until the invoice is paid. Your data is kept throughout.
4. Refunds
- Payments are generally not refundable once a paid month has started, including renewals, unused time and downgrades.
- We or Paddle may approve a refund for a duplicate charge, a billing error, access that was paid for but never activated, or a documented serious service failure that we cannot reasonably fix.
- For a first purchase you may ask for a discretionary review within 14 days. Approval is not automatic and may consider use of the service. Paddle's buyer protections and any rights your law gives you cannot be waived and apply as the law requires.
- This policy does not limit any statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation you have as a consumer, including under Korean consumer law where it applies. Where such a right applies it takes priority over this policy, and the refund is made as that law requires.
5. Plan changes, taxes and API usage
A plan change takes effect at once and is prorated: moving up charges the difference for the rest of the paid month, and moving down credits the unused part against your next invoices. Cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the paid month, then moves the workspace to Free. Paddle calculates the taxes. On Team and Business, API calls past the monthly allowance keep working at no extra charge; on Free they stop until next month.
6. Asking for help
Write to hello@claradb.com, or use the contact form, with the account email, the Paddle receipt or invoice reference, the date and amount, and the reason. Never send full card or bank details.
