Terms of use, for the site, workspace and API.
Terms for the ClaraDB website, workspace, API and MCP server.
1. Who we are and what this is
ClaraDB is operated by The Plain Works Co., Ltd. ("we"). Contact: hello@claradb.com. By using the service, or by continuing from the sign-in form, you accept these terms and the Privacy Notice. If you use ClaraDB for an organization, you confirm that you may bind it.
2. Information, not legal advice
ClaraDB shows what the published texts of laws say about product requirements in different markets, with the source line for each statement, and lets you check your own products against them. It is not legal, regulatory, customs or compliance advice, and it does not create an advisory relationship. Rules are written by AI agents and have not been reviewed by a lawyer or regulatory expert. Results depend on the facts you give and on rules known as of the date shown. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and a market may be only partly covered: each result states what is not checked. Check the official source and take advice before you rely on a result. A "within limit" result means only that the value you entered is within the limit in the rule. It does not mean a product is compliant, safe or approved. Enforcement records restate official records. A Prop 65 60-day notice is an allegation by its sender, not a finding.
3. Accounts
- You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep your mailbox secure: anyone who can open the link can sign in. Links work once and expire after 1 hour.
- A workspace belongs to the organization that created it. The owner controls members and roles and is responsible for who is invited.
- You must give accurate information. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not attack, overload or probe the service, or work around rate limits, spam traps or access controls.
- Do not use the service to send unwanted email or invitations to people who do not know you.
- Do not use ClaraDB to make false statements about a product, a company or a regulator, and do not present a ClaraDB result as an official certificate or test report.
- Do not scrape the site or bulk-copy the data set. Use the API within its limits instead.
5. API and MCP
- API keys are personal to your workspace. Keep them secret. You are responsible for all use made with your keys. Revoke a key that may have leaked.
- Rate limits apply per address and per key and may change. We may block use that harms the service.
- You may use API and MCP results in your own products and reports with the rule citation and the bundle version, and you must keep the statement that the result is information, not legal advice. You may not resell or republish the data set as a competing database, or use it to train a competing service.
- Outputs are not guaranteed to be complete. Read the coverage statement returned with each market.
6. Your data and our data; sources and licenses
You keep your rights in the SKU data and files you add. You allow us to process them to run the service for you (see the Privacy Notice). The legal texts quoted on ClaraDB belong to their publishers and are reused under the terms each publisher sets, for example the Open Government Licence for legislation.gov.uk, the reuse policy of the EU Publications Office, and the public-licence terms of Korean and Japanese government sites. Each rule links to its source. We do not claim rights in those texts. The rule structure, checks, compilation, pages and software are ours or our licensors'.
7. Plans and payment
For paid plans, Paddle is the seller and merchant of record, and the billing and refund policy applies. If you process personal data of others in a workspace, the data processing agreement forms part of these terms.
8. Availability, changes and ending
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Data and features change. You may stop using ClaraDB and delete your workspace at any time. We may change these terms; the version date at the top shows the current wording, and a material change will be announced in the app or by email before it applies.
9. Liability
The service is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss caused by relying on a result, for missed or late changes to a law, for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, goods, data or goodwill. Our total liability to you for all claims about the service in any 12 months is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and 100 euros. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, you keep the rights the law of your country gives you.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. Courts there have jurisdiction, except that a consumer may also use the courts of their home country where the law gives that right.
11. Contact and corrections
Questions: hello@claradb.com or the contact form. Errors in the data: corrections. How the rules are made: methodology.
